Ctg Abahani finally break jinx

Chittagong Abahani finally broke the jinx as they tasted their first win in the ongoing Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football, beating Bangladesh Police Football Club by a 1-0 goal at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Friday, reports BSS.
After the barren first half, Mohammad Fahim Morshed scored the decisive goal for Chittagong Abahani in the 55th minute of the match.
The police, however, tried their best to stage a fight back in the match, but they could not score any goals in the remaining proceedings, and eventually they had to leave the field with empty hands.
With the day's win, the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited opened their account with three points from eight matches while Bangladesh Police remained at their previous collection of seven points, playing the same number of outings.
Bangladesh Police will play their last round match against Rahmatganj on January 24, while Chittagong will meet Fortis Football Club at Bashundhara Kings Arena on January 25.
Chittagong Abahani earlier suffered a 0-7 defeat to Bashundhara Kings, lost their remaining three matches against Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society, Brothers Union Club, and Fakirerpool Young Men's Club by an identical margin of 2-0 goals, suffered a 1-0 defeat to Dhaka Wanderers Club, went down to a 5-1 defeat to Mohammedan, and lost 4-0 to Dhaka Abahani Limited.
Bangladesh Police Football Club earlier suffered a 2-1 defeat to Brothers Union Club in their league opening match, beat Fakirerpool by 4-1 goals, blanked Dhaka Wanderers by 4-0 goals, went down 1-3 goal defeat to Mohammedan, suffered a 2-0 defeat to Abahani Limited, suffered a 5-0 defeat to Bashundhara Kings, and played a 1-1 draw with Fortis Football Club.
Meanwhile, Mohammedan Sporting Club MSC) maintained their winning run in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football beating Brothers Union Club by 1-0 goal held at Birshreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
In the day's match, Sunday Emmanuel scored the all-important goal for Mohammedan in the 12th minute of the match.
Brothers Union Club, however, tried their best to stage a fight back in the match, but they could not score any in the remaining proceeding.
The day's win saw the traditional black and white Motijheel outfit Mohammedan raised their tally to 24 points from eight matches while the all-orange Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union remained at their previous collection of 14 points playing the same number of matches.
Mohammedan and Brothers Union will play their last round matches against Fakirerpool Young Men's Club and Abahani Limited Dhaka on January 24 and 25 respectively.
Earlier, Mohammedan beat Dhaka Wanderer Club 6-0 and edged past Bashundhara Kings and Abahani Limited Dhaka by an identical margin of 1-0 goal, defeated Bangladesh Police Football Club by 3-1 goals, beat Fortis Football Club by 1-0 goal, thrashed Chittagong Abahani Limited by 5-1 goals and defeated Rahmatganj by 3-1 goals.
On the onther hand, Fakirerpool Young Men's Club recorded their second win in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football beating Dhaka Wanderers Club by 4-1 goals in a match held at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur.
In the day's match, forward Rafayel Tudu, Uzbek midfielder Evgeniy Kochnev and his compatriots Sardor Jakhonov and forward Akobir Turaev scored one goal each for Fakirerpool while forward Sakib Bepari netted a lone goal for Wanderers.
Tudu opened an account scoring the first goal for Fakirerpool in the 17th minute while after the breather Evgeniy Kochnev doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 49th minute of the match.
Midfielder Sardor Jakhonov further widened the Fakirerpool margin scoring the third goal in the 70th minute while Akobir made the score line 4-0 from a spot kick in the 83rd minute of the match.
Sakib pulled one back for Wanderers scoring a lone goal in the 90+3rd minute.
With the day's win, Fakirerpool raised their tally to eight points from eight matches while Wanderers remained at their previous collection of four points playing the same number of matches.
Earlier, Fakirerpool suffered 2-0 defeat to Abahani Limited Dhaka, lost 4-1 to Bangladesh Police FC, went down 3-0 to Fortis Football Club, beat Chittagong Abahani Limited by 2-0 goals, suffered 6-1 defeat to Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society, lost 3-0 to Brothers Union Club and suffered 4-1 defeat to holders Bashundhara Kings.
While Dhaka Wanderers Club earlier suffered 6-0 defeat to Mohammedan in their league opening match, conceded 1-0 defeat to Abahani Limited Dhaka and suffered 4-0 defeat to Bangladesh Police Football Club, played out to a 1-1 goal draw with Fortis Football Club, suffered 1-0 defeat to Dhaka Wanderers Club, lost 6-1 to Rahmatganj and conceded 4-1 defeat to Brothers Union.
Today's matches: Abahani Limited Dhaka vs Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at Munshiganj Stadium (2.45 pm) and Bashundhara Kings vs Fortis Football Club at Bashundhara Kings Arena (2.45 pm).
