Ctg Abahani holds Dhaka Mohammedan

Port City club Chittagong Abahani held Dhaka Mohammedan SC to a 1-1 draw in their first match of the Citycell 2nd B League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) here Sunday, reports UNB.
Mithun Chowdhury scored first for Chittagong Abahani, while Nigerian recruit Alamu Bukola Olalekan netted the equalizer for Dhaka Mohammedan.
After a barren first half, Mithun put Chittagong Abahani ahead in the 81st minute with a placing shot over the onrushing custodian Aminul, as central defender Jewel Rana failed to grasp the danger from around the penalty spot (1-0).
Forward Bukola redeemed some pride for the Citycell Federation Cup champions Mohammedan SC converting a penalty in the dying moment of the match (1-1).
Referee Azad Rahman awarded the spot kick in favour of the popular 'Motijheel outfit' when Chittagong Abahani's Nepalese recruit Lok Bandhu fouled striker Mohammad Robin inside the D-box.
Earlier, in the first half, neither of the sides was able to convert couple of scoring chances.
First in the 23rd minute, Enamul Haque Sharif of Mohammedan SC delivered a right flank cross but forward Robin from vantage position could not head the ball home.
Then in the 40th minute, Bukola's powerful shot from inside the danger zone returned to play hitting the back of an opponent defender after receiving a right side minus from Nasir Hossain.
Chittagong Abahani substitute Mohammad Jahangir Alam unleashed a powerful shot in the 55th minute but that went straight into the safe hands of national keeper Aminul.
