Ctg Cricket Muktijoddha emerge champions

CHITTAGONG, Jan 3 (UNB): Muktijoddha Sangsad KC Red team clinched the CJKS Confidence Cement Ist Division Cricket League title qualifying the right to play in the Premier Division League from next season beating Young Star Blues by 18 runs at the MA Aziz Stadium here Saturday.

Batting first, Muktijoddha SKC Red scored 161 runs for 9 in stipulated 50 overs with Jasimuddin making 29, Naimul Islam 24 and Towhidur 20 runs.

Manjurul grabbed four wickets for 26 runs while Atiqur bagged three for 40 runs.

Chasing a target of 162 runs, Young Star Blues were all out for 143 runs in 47.1 overs with Tanmoy Ghosh scoring 38, Faisal Hossain 25 and Mesbahul 24 runs.

Obaidur claimed four wickets for 27 runs while Towhidul bagged two for 32 runs.

In the CJKS Ist Division Relegation League match on Saturday, Rafa Cricket Club beat Mohammedan SC Blues by seven wickets at the Women’s Sports Complex here.
