Cyclones of Ctg to play Raj Rangers in opener

Star-studded Cyclones of Chittagong (Chittagong Division) who signed Pakistan's Shoaib Akhter will take on Rajshahi Rangers (Rajshahi Division) in the inaugural of the National Cricket League (NCL) Twenty20 match on April 11 at the Sher-e-Bangla- National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS), reports BSS.
Destiny Group earned the title sponsorship of the new-look National Cricket League T20 somewhat similar to the ongoing famous Indian Premier League (IPL). Destiny Group Vice-Chairman Gazi Mohammad Gofranul Haque on behalf of the sponsors provided Tk 15 million (1.5 crore) cheque for the organiser-Bangladesh Cricket Board, who promises this meet to be one of the most dazzling sports meets in Bangladesh.
The NCL T20 with the participation of country's six divisional teams will be a perfect platform for the Bangladesh players going to Twenty20 World Cup in West Indies as this competition will run from April 11 to 20 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur (SBNCS) and the BKSP in Savar.
The participating teams have chosen their respective players from a selected pool through a lottery.
Cyclones of Chittagong will meet Sultans of Sylhet who have roped Mashrafee Bin Mortaza who was not included in Icon player's list and Dhaka Dynamites will play Barisal Blazers at SBNCS while Rajshahi Rangers will meet Kings of Khulna at BKSP on April 12.
The BCB earlier signed agreement with the franchises, who purchased the six divisional teams of the NCL T20, at the event launch ceremony Wednesday.
Aziz Al Kaiser Tito of Partex Group purchased the Barisal Division team named as "Barisal Blazers" to be led by top order batsman Shahriar Nafees.
Lutfar Rahman Badal of Neel Sports purchased the Chittagong Division team to be known as "Cyclones of Chittagong" with famed national opening batsman Tamim Iqbal will be leading them.
Shayan F Rahman of Beximco Group became owner of the Dhaka Division team, "Dhaka Dynamites", to be captained by former national skipper Mohammad Ashraful.
Dr Mahfuzur Rahman of ATN Records purchased the Khulna Division team, "Kings of Khulna". Captain of national Cricket team Shakib Al Hasan will lead the team.
Hasan Imam of MN Group became the owner of the Rajshahi Division team, "Rajshahi Rangers", with national all rounder Naeem Islam as captain.
Rezwan Bin Faruk, Ali Asif Khan, Latif Khan and Farid Khan of Riz Biz Event Management jointly purchased the Sylhet Division team, "Sultans of Sylhet". All-rounder Alok Kapali will captain the team.
