West Indies have confirmed that Daren Ganga will captain the side for the final two Tests against England, reports BBC.

The 28-year-old Trinidadian, who has captained West Indies A, took over when Ramnaresh Sarwan was injured at Leeds.

"He is a confident individual and we expect him to do well leading the team," said media spokesman Imran Khan.

Sarwan was ruled out for the rest of the tour after damaging his shoulder in the second Test, which the Windies lost by an innings and 283 runs.

Former skipper Shiv Chanderpaul missed that game but is expected to return for the third Test, starting Thursday.

Chanderpaul, a veteran of 102 Tests and with a batting average of 44, has recovered from tendinitis in his knee.
