DC Gold Cup Football Tournament ends

GAIBANDHA, Dec 9 (BSS): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gold Cup Football Tournament-2014, organised by District Sports Association (DSA), ended here at the Shah Abdul Hamid Stadium of the town Monday.
The final match of the tournament was held between Dinajpur Zila Dal (DZD) and Gaibandha Pourashava Dal (GPD) amid much enthusiasm and festivity.
In the match, GPD defeated DZD by 2-0 goals. Jibon and Abid netted both the goals for GPD.
Sabuj, a player of GPD was adjudged the best player of the tournament. Hasanuzzaman Biplob of Rangpur conducted the final match as referee.
DC M Ehsan-e-Elahi presided over the prize distribution ceremony.
Rangpur divisional commissioner Muhammad Dilwar Bakth witnessed the final match and distributed the trophies to the winners as the chief guest while administrator of Zila Parishad Advocate Syed Shams-ul-Alam Hiru was present as the special guest.
Additional deputy commissioner (general) Abu Bakar Siddique, additional district magistrate Farid Ahmed, additional deputy commissioner (revenue) Begum Aleya Khatun, general secretary of DSA Advocate Shah Masud Jahangir Kabir Milan and other members of the association were also present on the occasion.
A total of eight teams from different districts under Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions took part in the week-long tournament.
