Dhaka bundled out for 157

Holders Dhaka Division made a disastrous start in the 3rd round four-day match of the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 9th National Cricket League against Barisal Division being all out for 157 in 63.1 overs in the 1st innings at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium Friday, reports UNB.
In reply, Barisal Division in their 1st innings scored 27 runs for no loss in 17 overs when the bails were drawn for the first day. Skipper Shahriar Nafees and Hannan Sarker, who opened the innings, remained unbeaten on 19 and 6 respectively.
Asked to bowl first earlier in the morning, Talha Jubair gave the first blow to Dhaka innings as he sent back opener Anwar Hossain for 2 with 4 on the board. Then Sajedul Islam got the wicket of Al Shahriar Rokon (4) to give the hosts a scare with two wickets down for 19 runs in 3.4 overs.
Skipper Mohammad Ashraful along with opener Javed Omar tried to consolidate the innings, but Ashraful was soon trapped lbw by Arafat Salahuddin scoring 17 runs off 23 balls with a six.
Javed put Dhaka in more trouble as he followed his skipper scoring 33 runs off 94 balls with five fours. At that stage, the holders were languishing at 80 for 4 in 29.3 overs.
Then number five Mehrab Hossain Jr's innings highest 49 runs off 139 balls with a handy 16 runs by Shamsur Rahman Shuvo helped Dhaka to cross the 150-mark.
Sajedul Islamn was the most impressive among the Barisal Division bowlers claiming four wickets for 40 runs in 16 overs, while Arafat Salahuddin took two wickets for 25 runs in 12 overs.
At the Chittagong Divisional Stadium, coin-favoured Rajshahi Division were struggling in their first innings against Chittagong Division with 191 for 9 in 90 overs when the play was called off for the first day.
Left-hand opener Junaed Siddiqui Imroze continued his brilliant form topscoring 78 runs off 210 balls with six fours and a six, while another opener Jahirul Islam made 2nd highest 32 runs off 78 balls with four fours and a six.
After the departure of the two openers, no other Rajshahi Division batsmen could make any worthwhile resistance as skipper Khaled Mashud Pilot (18), Mushfiqur Rahman (18), Farhad Reza (7), Nayeem Islam (4) and Anisur Rahman (1) returned to the pavilion making poor contributions.
Number ten Delwar Hossain and last batsman Saqlain Sajib were batting on 8 and 7 runs respectively.
Right-arm pacer Tareq Aziz Khan captured four wickets for 38 runs in 20 overs while skipper Ehsanul Haque Sezan, Saju Datta and Yasin Arafat took one wicket each.
Meanwhile, at the Narayanganj Osmani Stadium (NOS), the first day's play between Khulna Division and Sylhet Division had to be abandoned due to wet outfield without a single ball bowled.
