Dhaka Dynamites keep all-win run

Former national skipper Mohammad Ashraful-led Dhaka Dynamites maintained the all-win record in the Destiny Group National Cricket League (NCL) T20 beating Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's Sultans of Sylhet by 40 runs at the BKSP in Savar Tuesday, reports UNB.
With 2nd consecutive victory, Dhaka Dynamites brightened the chance to reach the semifinal after beating Shahriar Nafees-led Barisal Blazers by six wickets in their first appearance on Monday.
Sent in to bat first, Dhaka Dynamites faced initial batting collapse losing five wickets for 43 runs in 7.2 overs, but a confident 86-run partnership between Sri Lankan Jeevan Mendis and Mehrab Hossain Jr guided Dhaka to 133 for 6 in 20 overs.
After the dismissal of five top batsmen - Pakistani Imran Nazir (16), opener Shamsur Rahman (13), one down Jahurul Islam Omi (0), captain Mohammad Ashraful (0) and national colour Mahmudullah Riad (1) - Jeevan Mendis pairing with Mehrab Jr repaired the early damage with a resolute 6th wicket stand.
Number seven Mehrab Jr contributed not out 58 off 44 balls with five fours and two sixes while number six Jeevan Mendis added useful 40 runs off 39 balls with three fours.
Recent past national skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza grabbed three wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs while Nazmul Hossain and Pakistani Rashed Hanif took one wicket apiece.
In reply, Sultans of Sylhet were dismissed for 93 runs in 17.3 overs against devastating bowling by veteran spinner Mohammad Rafique and captain Mohammad Ashraful.
Famed national spinner Rafique grabbed four wickets for only seven runs in 3.3 overs with a maiden and was adjudged man of the match. Ashraful took three wickets for 13 runs in three overs.
Among the Sylhet batsmen, ICL star Alok Kapali scored 34-ball 33 runs with two fours and a six, Nazmul Hossain scored 20-ball 21 runs with one four and a six while Ariful Haque made 18 off 8 balls with one four.
Dhaka Dynamites will play Kings of Khulna in their next match on Thursday at 5:20 pm at the SBNCS after a day's recess Wednesday.
