Dhaka Gladiators, Dhumketu Club reach final

Dhaka Gladiators and Dhumketu Club reached the final of the Citycell Federation Cup Basketball Tournament eliminating their rivals in the semifinals at the Dhanmondi gymnasium in the city Saturday, reports UNB.

The final match between the two teams will be held today (Sunday) at 4:00 pm.  Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Syed Shaheed Reza will be the chief guest in the Sunday's final.

In the day's match, Group A champion Dhaka Gladiators eliminated Group B runners-up BKSP by 80-70 points in a keenly -contested first semifinal after trailing the first half by 32-36 points.

Vinod caged 30, Bappi 23 for the winners while Jamil scored 27 and Zaman 14 point for the losers.

In the day's other semis, Group A runners-up Dhumketu Club beat Group B champions Hornets SC by 90-68 points at the same venue after dominating the first session by 50-27 points.

Tareq contributed 26 and Sajid 18 points for the winners while Moudud scored 20 and Moshiur 17 for the losers.
