Egypt, Malaysia emerge champion

CHATTOGRAM, Mar 24: Yasin Ilshafi of Egypt won the champion trophy of the male group of Bangamata International Squash Tournament-2022 and Vinakashani of Malaysia won the trophy of the female group at Chittagong Club Limited in Chattogram on Tuesday evening.

Egypt's Ilshafi beat Ovishek Agarwal of India and Malaysia's Vinakashani beat Fatem of Sri Lanka.

M A Malek, editor of the Daily Azadi, was present at the closing and prize-giving ceremony. Besides, Chairman of SA Group of Industries Shahab Uddin Alam, General Secretary of Professional Squash Association (PSA) Brig General Kamrul Islam, Vice President of PSA Mirza Salman Ispahani, Managing Director of SA Group of Industries Sazzad Arefin Alam, Members of Chittagong Club Executive Committee were present at the closing and prize giving function of the tournament.

M A Malek said, "Bangamata International Squash Tournament-2022 is an important international squash event of Bangladesh. The relationship among the players and countries will be strengthened through the tournament."

Chairman of SA Group of Industries Shahab Uddin Alam said, "We are very happy to support and arrange the tournament. SA Group will support all good events in sports in Bangladesh."
