Eight matches decided in opening day of Pepsi-DRU cricket tournament

Eight matches were decided in the opening day of the Pepsi-DRU Six-A-Side Cricket Tournament at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in the city Sunday, reports UNB.
In the day's matches, Janakantha (19/0) outplayed Deshbangla (16/5) by five wickets, Samakal (12/0) outclassed Bhorer Dak (11/5), Bangla Vision (26/0) drubbed Manabjamin (25/5), New Age blanked Jai Jai Din also by the same margin.
In other matches of the day, Khabarpatro (73/1) beat Amader Somoy (71/4) by four wickets, Naya Diganta (88/1) defeated The Independent (51/3) by 37 runs, Karatoa (67/2) beat bdnews24 (50/1) by 17 runs while Channel I got walkover against BBC.
Earlier in the morning, Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) former president Lt. Gen. (retd) Mahbubur Rahman inaugurated the tournament as chief guest while tournament sponsors Transcom Beverages executive director Golam Quddus Chowdhury was present as special guest.
Former national skipper Raqibul Hasan, Bangladesh Handball Federation general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Bangladesh Hockey Federation joint secretary Khawja Rahmatullah were also present on the occasion.
