NOTTINGHAM, Aug 30 (AFP): England, after losing the toss, were bowled out for 227 by India in the third one-day international at Trent Bridge Saturday.
Spin again proved England's undoing, with India's slow bowlers taking five wickets between them and off-break bowler Ravichandran Ashwin returning figures of three for 39 in his maximum 10 overs.
England captain Alastair Cook top-scored with 44 in an innings where only fellow opener Alex Hales and Jos Buttler, who both made 42, passed 40.
It wasn't until the last over where tailender James Tredwell, who made 30 off just 18 balls, lofted Bhuvneshwar Kumar over long-on, that England scored their lone six of the innings.
