Eskaton beat Wanderers

Ashraful Hossain Babu's unbeaten century of 103 and Nadim Sheikh's 96 runs enabled Eskaton Sabuj Sangha to win against Dhaka Wanderers Club by 3 wickets in a match of the Dhaka Metropolis First Division Cricket League at Fatullah Outer Stadium Wednesday, reports UNB.

In the day's match, replying to Wanderers 257 runs, Eskaton SS reached their target scoring 260 runs for 7 wickets in 47 overs, powered by a 126-run partnership in 27.3 overs, in the 7th wicket stand, by Ashraful Hossain Babu and Nadim Sheikh.

Number eighth Babu smashed his unbeaten century scoring 103 runs off 89 balls with eight fours and six sixes.

Number seven Nadim Sheikh scored 96 runs off 100 balls with 11 fours before being caught by Mufti Amin off opponent skipper Rayhan Anas at 201 for 7 in 40.3 overs.

Skipper Asadul Habib Sujon (18) and Musfiqur Islam (not out 17) were the other double digit scorers for Eskaton SS.

Sentu bowled impressively to grab 5 wickets for 31 runs in his 10 overs spell.

Earlier, sent in to bat first, Wanderers posted a fighting total of 257 runs for all in 50 overs.

Number three Mufti Amin made a half century scoring 74 runs off 84 balls with eight fours and a six before bowled by Ashraful Hossain Babu.
