EWU, NUB earn win

East West University (EWU) and Northern University of Bangladesh (NUB) won their respective matches in the 7th ULAB Fair Play Cup Inter-Private University T20 Cricket Tournament at the ULAB playground in the city Friday, reports UNB.

In the days' first match, East West University beat University of Asia Pacific (UAP) by 58 runs.

Batting first after winning the toss, EWU scored 160 runs for six wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Anik of EWU who contributed an unbeaten 38 runs off 23 balls to be adjudged man of the match.

In reply, UAP were restricted at 102 runs for eight wickets in allocated 20 overs.

In the days' 2nd match, Northern University of Bangladesh (NUB) defeated South East University (SEU) by 25 runs at the same venue.

Batting first, NUB scored 146 runs for 7 wickets in fixed 20 overs.Turjo made 87 off 57 balls for NUB and was adjudged man of the match.

Shimul grabbed four wickets in his four-over spell.

Chasing 147 runs to win, SEU were all out for 121 runs in 19.3 overs. There will be a day's recess today (Saturday).

Today's matches: University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) vs United International University (UIU) (9:30 am); Eastern University (EU) vs BRAC University  (1:30 pm).
