Farhad, Anis tons guide Rajshahi Div

Two centuries by Farhad Hossain and Anisur Rahman enabled Rajshahi Division to score 256 for 5 in 89.2 overs against lowly Sylhet Division on the first day of the four-day 6th round match of the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 9th National Cricket League Tuesday, reports UNB.
Sent in to bat first at the Narayanganj Osmani Stadium in Fatullah, Rajshahi faced initial trouble as two dependable batsmen -- national opener Junaed Siddiqui (8) and season's steady performer Zahurul Islam (2) -- fell cheaply for 16 runs in 8.1 overs.
But one down Farhad Hossain pairing with number three Anisur Rahman steadied the Rajshahi innings putting up 205 runs in the third wicket stand.
Farhad contributed 106 runs off 252 balls with 12 fours before being run out by Ejaz while Anisur Rahman scored 102 runs off 209 balls, also with 12 fours, before he had to retire hurt.
After the dismissal of the two century-makers, Rajshahi Division lost two more quick wickets of Nayeem Islam (2) and all-rounder Mushfiqur Rahman (13). Alamgir Kabir remained unbeaten on 6.
National pacer Tapash Baishya bowled economically to claim two wickets for 14 runs in 4.3 overs while national colour all- rounder Alok Kapali and spinner Enamul Haque Jr took one wicket apiece for 36 and 56 runs respectively.
