Faridpur clinch 27th national hockey title

Faridpur DSA clinched the 27th National Hockey Championship title with a 2-1 win over Dhaka DSA in the final at the Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium Thursday, reports bdnews24.com.
Yousuf Ali Biswas put Faridpur ahead in the seventh minute with a field goal while Iqbal Nazir Prince equalised the Dhaka margin in the 18th minute with a field goal.
Mamunur Rahman converted a penalty corner in the 53rd minute to give Faridpur second title after they emerged champions in 1976.
Dhaka, sixth-time champions, again finished runners-up after they were beaten by Bangladesh Army in the last edition.
Sports Adviser Tapan Chowdhury distributed trophies among the winners, while Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) President and Air chief Air Marshal SM Ziaur Rahman and BFF General Secretary Shamsul Bari were also present on the occasion.
