Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Wednesday named an 18-member final squad for taking part in the 3rd Grand Royal Challenge Cup to be held in Myanmar on November 11-21, reports UNB.
Medio Motiur Munna has been retained as captain of the team, while defender Mohammad Sujan made his deputy.
Talking to the reporters at the BFF conference room in the city Wednesday afternoon, National Football Coach Shafiqul Islam Manik expressed his optimism that the team would continue to perform consistently during the Myanmar tour.
He said: "We want to maintain consistency of the performance in the recently concluded Merdeka Cup Football."
The national team coach admitted that their group rivals-Myanmar and Indonesia-are comparatively good sides, but said, "We will play positive football against them."
Asked about their specific target in the tournament, Manik said: "We will just concentrate on performance and consistency."
In the ensuing Myanmar tournament, Bangladesh has been placed in group A with strong Indonesia and hosts Myanmar, while group B comprises Vietnam, Malaysia and Hyundai FC.
Bangladesh will play hosts Myanmar in the inaugural match of the six-team 3rd Grand Royal Challenge Cup on November 11 and the 2nd group match against Indonesia on November 13.
Bangladesh team will leave for Myanmar on November 9.
