Telecom giant GrameenPhone will sponsor the country's first-ever Beach Cricket Tournament to be held in the tourists' resort of Cox's Bazar on October 9, reports UNB.
The Week End Cricket Club Association (WECCA) is organising the tournament to introduce Bangladesh in the World Beach Cricket as well as to popularise Cox's Bazar as a local and international beach cricket venue.
Some 14 teams, split into four groups, will compete in the five-over-a-side daylong meet.
