First Inter-District Women's Kabaddi begins today

The Spectra Group Inter-District Women's Kabaddi Tournament begins in the city today (Friday), reports UNB.
Begum Ismat Noor will inaugurate the meet in the afternoon with Spectra Group chairman Khan Mohammad Aftabuddin present.
Thirteen teams, split into four groups, are taking part in the first such meet at two city venues -- Outer Stadium Kabaddi court and Dhan-mondi Women's Sports Complex.
Later, the four group champions will play in the semi-finals.
On completion of the meet, some 25-30 selected players will undergo training by the Bangladesh Kabaddi Fede-ration for the next Indo-Bangla Games to be held in January.
The closing ceremony of the four-day meet will be held on July 15 with Youth and Sports Ministry Adviser Tapan Chowdhury as chief guest. Federation president and IGP Noor Mohammad will preside over the function.
Participating teams:
Group A: Tangail, Narail and Khulna DSAs;
Group B: Dhaka, Jamalpur, Manikganj and Gaibandha DSAs
Group C: Narayanganj, Rangamati and Munshiganj DSAs;
Group D: Rajshahi, Faridpur and Madaripur DSAs.
