First round begins tomorrow

The first round of the Bashundhara Champions Club Cup Football Competition, organised by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), begins tomorrow (Friday) with 12 matches slated for the opening day, reports UNB.
Fifty-nine district league champion teams will take part in the competition at 12 separate venues across the country. The venues are Tangail, Feni, Gopalganj, Barguna, Habiganj, Bandarban, Sherpur, Rangpur, Meherpur, Dinajpur, Narail and Rajshahi.
After the league basis first round, 12 venue champions, split into four groups, will play in the final round to be held at four separate venues outside capital Dhaka.
Of the Tk 6 million (60 lakh) tournament budget, title sponsor Bashundhara Group will provide Tk 4 million (40 lakh) while co-sponsor Citycell will bear Tk 2 million (20 lakh).
The participating teams of the competition will receive Tk 20,000 each as participation money, while each of the match venues will get Tk 50,000.
Tournament committee chairman Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir disclosed the details at a press conference at the BFF conference room Wednesday afternoon.
