Five players jointly lead the Open Group of Mohammedan International School Chess Championship securing full two points after the second round matches at the Club Pavilion in Motijheel Wednesday, reports UNB.
The leaders are: FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman, Rafshan Bin Omar, Akib Jawad and Subrata Biswas, and Arka Sengupta of India.
In Girls Class VI to X group, Arpita Mukharjee and Asmita Das of India and Fatema-tuz-Zohora Sraboni of Bibi Mariam School earned full 2 points each from as many matches.
In Girls Class III to V group, Sayantan Mukharjee of India, Mehrabuddin Ahmed, Moshtafa Amir Faysal, Nova Tasha and Dihan Mashroor Niloy earned maximum 2 points each.
In Boys Class III to IV group, Abdullah Al Raihan Saikat, Ramim
Ahmed, Denial Murad and Niloy Mitra Barua earned maximum 2 points each
In Boys KG to Class II group, Tahsin Tajwar Zia, Swarnavo Choudhury, Sultan Z Yasin and Mushfiqur Rahman Tamim earned maximum 2 points.
In the 2nd round matches, Fahad beat Muhit, Rafshan beat Kungsuk, Arka beat Miraj, Akib beat Rabbi, Arpita beat Nafisa, Asmita beat Zakia, Sraboni beat Khusi, Sayantan beat Jamim, Mehrab beat Razin, Niloy beat Safat, Faisal beat Farhad, Saikat beat Mahir, Niloy beat Atanu, Denial beat Shadin, Ramim beat Efat, Jannatul beat Norsat, Jarifah beat Sawri, Mayabi beat Numa, Tasin beat Satim, Yasin beat Adeeb, Swarnavo beat Aritra and Tamim beat Zara.
The 3rd round matches will be held today (Thursday) from 10:30 am at the same venue.
