Though the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) got the champions and runner-up teams with two rounds left, but four teams will have to battle to skip relegation, reports BSS.
Even after the end of the 20th round, it is not yet confirmed which of the two teams will be relegated from the BPL.
With two matches to go, bottom-ranked of the league table Swadhinata Krira Sangha, who stunned Bashundhara Kings in their opening match of the league, now stand at most risky zone of relegation.
The new comers Swadhinata KS have only nine points from 20 matches to stand bottom of the table. Uttar Baridhara Club have been placed at 11th position with 14 points, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra at 10th position
with 15 points and Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at ninth position with 18 points after the 20 round engagements.
The traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj MFS are slightly advantageous position among the four teams in the relegation zone. They see some light of hope to skip the danger zone after thrashing Swadhinata Krira Sangha 5-1 in the 20 round matches.
Rahmatganj MFS now will be needed two more points from their remaining two matches to skip relegation. Points may not be needed for them if the teams below in the league table lose points.
All four teams at the bottom of the points table will have to fight against the giant teams in their remaining matches. Rahmatganj MFS will play against Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and Muktijoddha SKC will have to face Chittagong Abahani Limited and Saif Sporting Club, Uttar Baridhara will meet Saif Sporting Club and Abahani Limited Dhaka
and Swadhinata Krira Sangha will take on Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra respectively.
Swadhinata KS must have to win against Sheikh Jamal DC to skip relegation in their next round match. If they lose the match, their relegation will be confirmed. Even Swadhinata KS will not be benefited, if they able to beat Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra in their last round match of the league.
Meanwhile, the 21st round of the league will begin tomorrow (Monday) with a big match between holders Bashundhara Kings and Abahani Limited Dhaka.
The match will be played at Bashundhara Sports Complex in the city at 4 pm.
