BERLIN, May 06 (AFP): Chile's Cristian Garin completed what he said was a special week by beating Matteo Berrettini 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (7/1) in the final of the Munich Open on Sunday to claim the second ATP tour title of his career.
"Everything was special for me this week, I will never forget this," said Garin, as he was presented with a pair of Bavarian lederhosen upon his victory.
Ranked 47 in the world at the beginning of the tournament, Garin pulled off a string of surprises in Munich, knocking out world number three Alexander Zverev and third seed Marco Cecchinato on his way to the final.
