Gazi Tank celebrate first win outplaying CCS by 115 runs

All round performance by Farhad Hossain and Farhad Reza enabled star studded Gazi Tank Cricketers to taste their first victory in their 2nd match of the Metropolis Premier Division Cricket League outplaying Cricket Coaching School by 115 runs at the Fatullah Stadium Monday, reports UNB.
Gazi Tank Cricketers, the finalists of Twenty20 Cricket League, made a frustrating start in the Premier League losing to Old DOHS SC by 44 runs in the first match.
In the day's other matches, Bangladesh Biman earned their 2nd consecutive win beating Old DOHS SC by five wickets at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra while Kalabagan KC tasted the first win beating all losers Partex SC by five wickets at BKSP ground in Savar.
Winning the toss, Gazi Tank Cricketers piled up 245 for all in 49.4 overs with one down Shahriar Nafees contributing 65 runs off 91 balls featuring six fours and two sixes.
But both Farhads played the key role for team's victory with all round performance.
Middle order batsman Farhad Hossain scored team 2nd highest 45 runs off 50 deliveries including three fours and one six and later grabbed four wickets for 23 runs to restrict CCS with poor total while lower order batsman Farhad Reza quick fired 21-ball 42 runs and took two wickets for 16.
Apart from them, opener Nazimuddin (31) and Indian Hemang Badani (29) were the other major scorers for Gazi Tank.
Sirajullah Khadem and KM Shakil grabbed three wickets each giving away 32 abd 51 runs respectively while Ashraf Khan took two wickets for 41 runs.
In reply, CCS were dismissed for 130 runs in 39.2 overs with one down Tapash Ghose making 56 runs in 109 balls hitting six boundaries.
