Walton Additional Director FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn inaugurating the 4th National Rugby Championship in the city Thursday.

Gazipur DSA made a flying start in the Walton Motorcycle 4th National Rugby Championship crushing Faridpur DSA by 35-0 points in the opening match at the Outer Stadium in Paltan in the city Thursday, reports UNB.
In the day's other matches, holders Narail DSA beat Munshiganj DSA 18-3; Bangladesh Army outclassed Madaripur DSA 36-3; and Chittagong DSA defeated Bagerhat DSA 36-5.
Earlier, Chairman of the Tournament Committee and Additional Director of the meet's sponsor Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn inaugurated weeklong meet, organised by Bangladesh Rugby Union. Advisor of the meet' s media partner ATN Bangla Meer Motahar Hasan, Brand Ambassador of Walton Zobera Rahman Linu, Rugby Union Vice-President Abdullah Al Zahir Swapan and general secretary Mousum Ali were present.
Twelve teams, split into four groups, are taking part in the meet.
Participating teams:
Group A - Bangladesh Army, Madaripur and Rangpur DSAs Group B - Chittagong, Bagerhat and Sirajganj DSAs Group C - Dhaka, Faridpur and Gazipur DSAs Group D - Narail, Munshiganj and Pabna DSA.
Four group champions will play in the semi-finals on September 14 and 15, both at 4:00 pm while the final will be held on September 17 at the same venue.
