Girls U-14 football final abandoned due to earthquake

Bangladesh-Nepal qualifying final match of the AFC U-14 Girls Championship scheduled to be held Saturday at the Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu was abandoned after a massive earthquake struck the country, reports BSS.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) women's wing sources confirmed that all the girls and team officials of Bangladesh U-14 team are safe and sound and currently staying in the hotel in Kathmandu. They will return home today (Sunday) if the airport reopens.

BFF sources said they have received a confirmation mail from AFC regarding the cancellation of Bangladesh's qualifying final match.

A powerful earthquake of 7.8 magnitude struck Nepal and neighbouring countries Saturday which left hundreds of people dead.
