The qualification round of the ATN Bangla 30th Gold Cup National Hockey Tournament will begin Wednesday at two separate venues-Dhaka and Rajshahi-across the country, reports BSS.
A total of 23 teams will take part in the competition, jointly organised by Bangladesh Hockey Federation and private satellite channel ATN Bangla.
Top four teams-Bangladesh Army, Faridpur district, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan and Dhaka district-of the 8th Bangladesh Games will directly play the final round while the remaining 19 teams, split into six groups, will play in the qualification round.
Among them, 15 matches of the four groups will be held in Dhaka venue while the remaining two group matches are slated at Rajshahi venue.
The top six teams from the six groups of the qualification round along with top four teams of the 8th Bangladesh games will participate in the final round that will start on November 12.
ATN Bangla will telecast live the inaugural match from the Maoulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in the city.
