Groupings of GP Super Cup Football finalised

Groupings of the Grameenphone 3rd Super Cup Football were finalised in a ceremonial draw at a local hotel Thursday with holders Abahani Limited in strong Group A, reports UNB. The other Group A teams are Professional League champions Sheikh Russell KC, Muktijoddha Sangsad KC and Feni Soccer Club. The Group B teams comprise former champions Mohammedan SC, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Team BJMC and Brothers Union Club. The eight-team Super Cup Football will begin on June 14 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Sheikh Russell KC will play the inaugural match against Feni Soccer Club at 5:00 pm while Abahani Limited will encounter Muktijoddha Sangsad KC in the other opening day's fixture at 7:00 pm. Former BFF general secretary Abdur Rahim, BFF senior vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedy, BFF vice-president Arif Khan Joy and former national player Elias Hossain conducted the day's draw. Tournament Committee chairman and BFF Vice-president Tabith Awal and Abdus Salam Murshedy spoke on the occasion where BFF President Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin was also present. The champion team will be awarded with prize money of Tk 5.0 million while the runners-up team will get prize money of Tk 2.0 million. Besides, all the participating teams will get appearance money of Tk 1.5 million each.
