Gulshan Youth Club Sports Carnival begins today

The 7th Gulshan Youth Club Sports Carnival, 2014 begins today (Sunday) at the Gulshan Youth Club playground in the city, reports UNB.
Thirteen events-athletics, football, cricket, basketball, roller skating, tennis, swimming, karate, badminton, carom, table tennis, art and music-are included in the 18-day competition to be concluded on April 30.
The opening ceremony of the sports carnival will be held today (Sunday) afternoon on the club premises with traditional kite competition in presence of local MP and other elite.
Some 550 athletes and sportsmen are expected to participate in the sports carnival, sponsored by M&J Group, Ejab Group and Want AD Ltd.
President of Gulshan Youth Club Rafez Alam Chowdhury disclosed the details of the carnival at a press conference at the Bangladesh Tennis Federation conference room Saturday.
Club general secretary M Shawkat Hossain, members Shariful Islam Varosha, Zaheed Iftehkar Pasha and Indoor Games convener Khaled Salahuddin were also present on the occasion.
