EL PASO (Texas), Jul 1 (AFP): Four-time ex-heavyweight champ Evander Holyfield continued his comeback Saturday with a win over 41-year-old Lou Savarese at the Don Haskins Centre arena.
The 44-year-old American won a 10-round decision, knocking Savarese down twice en route to raising his record to 42-8-2, 27 KOs.
Savarese (46-7, 38 KOs) was cut on the forehead in the first round. Holyfield hurt Savarese in round three and sent him to the canvas. He floored Savarese again in the ninth.
The three judges scored the fight 99-87, 98-90 and 96-91 for Holyfield.
