India look to double lead against sloppy Windies

With a 1-0 lead in West Indies' favoured format, India will travel to St Kitts & Nevis with the upper hand, looking to consolidate on their rather flattering record over the hosts in the shortest format, according to Cricbuzz.
It's a venue India will be playing at for the first time when the second T20I kicks off today (Monday) at Warner Park. But they have the momentum from a comprehensive 68-run win in the opening fixture.
West Indies were not just outdone by India in the batting, bowling or fielding department, but also in terms of team selection. India opted for three spinners, while West Indies played just one - Akeal Hosein, who returned 1-14 in his four overs. Whereas, India's trio of Ravi Bishnoi, R Ashwin - who returned to the T20 set-up and Ravindra Jadeja, shared five wickets between them.
There were further errors that cost West Indies, as Nicholas Pooran pointed out. Suryakumar Yadav was dropped by Kyle Mayers on 10, Rohit Sharma was offered freebies by Alzarri Joseph, continuing to bowl short pacey deliveries that were punished, Jason Holder failed to execute the yorkers in the death and they never got going in the chase.
India continued their deliberate aggressive batting approach in the opening ODI, which paid dividends, as they ended up with a strong total on a tough pitch. India have been scoring at 9.46 runs an over in T20Is in 2022 - the best in a year where they have played more than a match.
