India wins second cycling gold, Bangladesh wins bronze in 11th SA Games

Bangladesh wins bronze, the first medal in cycling, in the men's 80 km Road Team Time Trial.
KHULNA, Jan 31 (BSS): Indian cyclists showed their supremacy in the 11th South Asian Games 2010 here Sunday as they notched the second gold medal in Men's 80-Km Road Team Trial event.
Pakistan had to remain satisfied with silver like yesterday while the host Bangladesh cyclist secured bronze medal.
India took 1 hour 44 minutes 11.81 seconds on the way to gold; Silver winner Pakistan paddled to the second position in 1 hour 45 minutes 59.11 seconds and Bangladesh took 1 hour 46 minutes44.11 seconds to cover the distance.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka and Nepal secured fourth and 5th position that took 1 hour 48 minutes 37.41 seconds and 2 hour 2 minutes 48.31 seconds respectively.
The Gold winner India Team members: Amandeep Singh, Harpreet Singh, Rajendra Kumar and Sabu Ganajer.
The Silver Winner Pakistan Team members: Haroon Rashid, Muhammed Rafique, Nisar Ahmmed and Sabir Sabir.
The Bronze winner Bangladesh Team members: Kumar Ripon, Uddin Muslim, Uddin Ekhtir and Hossain Anwar.
The race started from zero point at Gallamary bypass road area to Mollahat Bridge under Bagerhat district this morning and back to zero point.
Divisional Commissioner of Khulna Md Eunusur Rahman distributed gold medal, DIG of Khulna Range Hemayet Uddin distributed silver medal and Md Shamsuddin distributed the bronze medal among the winner athletes of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh respectively.
Men 170-Km Road Race Mass Start would be held tomorrow at the same venue.
