India and Yemen won their opening matches in the IHF Men's Handball Challenge Trophy at the Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium at Mirpur in the city Wednesday, reports UNB.
In the day's matches, India beat Nepal 44-22 (1st half 22-5) while Yemen defeated Afghanistan 44-11 (1st half 17-10).
Shamsher Singh scored match highest 14 goals for India while Fuldev Choudhary netted four goals for Nepal.
In another match, Abdullah Ahmed Ali scored highest six goals for Yemen while Ahmad Zobair netted four goals for Afghanistan.
