Indian A team win one-day series against Bangladesh A

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 06 (UNB): Touring Indian A team won the three-match one-day series 2-0 beating Bangladesh A team by a huge margin of 68 runs in the 2nd match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in the port city here on Sunday.

The string Indian Women's team, which made a flying start in the three-match one-day series beating the hosts by eight wickets in the first match last Friday, will play the remaining one-day match on Tuesday (October 8) at the same venue.

After the one-day series, both the teams will lock horns in the three-match T20 series against their Bangladesh counterpart on October 11, 12 and 14, all at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox's Bazar.

Sent in to bat first in the day's 2nd one-dayer, Indian A team scored 133 for 6 in the curtailed 24 -over--a-side match with opener Yastika Bhatia scoring 32.

Spinner KhadizaTul Kubra and Ritu Moni grabbed two Indian wickets each conceding 21 and 30 runs respectively while Shaila Sharmin took one for 20 runs.

In reply, the 2nd string Bangladesh women's team were forced to fold their innings at 65 runs for 8 in reduced 24 overs.

After the departure of five top order batsmen cheaply for 12 runs in 10 overs, number five Ritu Moni (25), number seven Sobhana Mastray (13), number eight Nuzhat Tumpa ( not out 12) were the other batters for Bangladesh, reaching the double digit.

Indian all-rounder Devika Vadiya, who earlier scored 22 runs, also bowled devastatingly to claim three wickets conceding only eight runs in her four-over spell. She was adjudged the player of the match.

Deputy Commissioner (In Charge) of Chattogram Yasmin Parvin Tibriji was the chief guest in the day's match and later she distributed the prizes.
