Clarke has switched focus to getting fit for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, which starts on February 14, after being forced off in the victorious first Test against India at the weekend.
"Michael was assessed by a surgeon in Melbourne early this evening (Monday) and will be undergoing surgery tomorrow to repair his injured right hamstring," doctor Peter Brukner said.
