Injured pace bowler Ebadot Hossain has flown to India with the members of Bangladesh T20 squad from Dhaka on Tuesday (October 1) ahead of the three-match series, scheduled from October 6, reports Cricbuzz.
The pace bowler had suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during the ODI series against Afghanistan in July 2023 and was required to go under the knife following that injury, thereby forcing him to be benched so far.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)'s cricket operation in-charge Shahriar Nafees told the online sports portal on Tuesday that they are not sending the pacer for taking part in the series, instead to continue his rehabilitation further under the close eyes of team management.
"Ebadot going with the team as he will continue his rehabilitation program in India," Shahriar told the online sports portal on Tuesday.
"Let me explain the situation at the moment, the Tigers Program is closed as everyone is released to join their respective First-class teams. The Tiger management worked for three to three and half months. Ebadot is going with the team as Bayzid Bhai (national team physio) will assess him along with Nathan Kelly( trainer)," he said.
"He is not going to play, he is going there to further continue his rehabilitation program as per the request of the national team because there is the bowling coach and others who want to see him from close quarters," he added.
Bangladesh will play three T20Is respectively on Gwalior (October 06), Delhi (October 09) and Hyderabad (October 12).
Bangladesh pace bowler Shoriful Islam said that Bangladesh have a strong chance in the series although they are missing key players including the retirement of Shakib Al Hasan.
