IUB reach super eight

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) emerged as the unbeaten Group C champions to reach "super eight" of the 7th ULAB Inter-Private University Cup T20 Cricket beating BRAC University by 17 runs in the last group match at the ULAB playground at Ramchandrapur in the city Tuesday, reports UNB.
After the day's defeat, BRAC University finished Group C runners-up to qualify for the super eight stage.
In the super eight stages, IUB will play State University Bangladesh Saturday at (9:30 am) while BRAC University will face Group A champion and hosts ULAB University Friday at (9:30 am).
In the day's second match, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) batted first after winning the toss and scored 131 runs for all in stipulated 20 overs.
Mamun of IUB made a brilliant knock of 44 runs off only 36 balls and was adjudged man of the match.
In reply, BRAC University, were all out for 114 runs in quota 20 overs.
Earlier in the day's first match, State University Bangladesh (SUB) beat United International University (UIU) by 66 runs.
Winning the toss, SUB elected to bat first to score 150 runs for 3 wickets in stipulated 20 overs with Noman contributing a brilliant knock of 55 runs of only 48 balls.
In reply, UIU were bundled out for 84 runs in 16.5 overs with Mahi scoring a brilliant innings of 27 runs in 33 balls and took 4 wickets in 4 overs to be adjudged man of the match.
Today's matches: University of Asia Pacific (UAP) vs Manarat International University (MIU) (9:30 am).

Group A: Champions - ULAB, Runners up- State University Bangladesh
Group B: Champions - North South University, Runners up - South East
University
Group C: Champions -Independent University Bangladesh, Runners up-
