Janakantha clinch Pepsi-DRU cricket title

Janakantha clinched the title of the Pepsi-DRU Six-A-Side Cricket Tournament with a five-wicket win over Channel-i in the final at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
Former secretary general of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) and executive director of Transcom Beverages Golam Quddus Chowdhury was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the prizes.
In the day's final, coined-favored Channel i batted first to score 48 runs for two wickets with Partha Tanveer scoring team highest 30 runs. Asif Iqbal grabbed two wickets for 10 runs.
In reply, Janakantha reached their target making 51 without losing any wicket.
Jasim Uddin Khan of Janakantha was adjudged man of the final and Asif Iqbal, also of Janakantha, adjudged man of the tournament.
Partha Tanveer of Channel-i received the best fielder award of the tournament.
