CARNOUSTIE (Scotland), Jul 20 (AP): Miguel Angel Jiminez has the early clubhouse lead during second-round play at the British Open. The Spaniard shot a 1-under-par 70 Friday to get to minus-3 for the tournament.
American hopeful Jim Furyk carded a second consecutive 70 and is in at minus-2.
US Open champion Angel Cabrera ballooned to a 73 and is 1-under through 36 holes, same as Lee Westwood and Andres Romero, who both carded 70s.
First-round leader Sergio Garcia is even on the day with a couple of holes to play and remains 6 under for the tourney.
Tiger Woods has yet to tee it up for his second round. He shot a 2-under 69 yesterday.
The world's top-ranked golfer is trying to be the first golfer to win the British Open three straight years since Australia's Peter Thomson did it from 1954 through '56.
