Khulna post second win, Mashrafe takes 5 wkts

A five-wicket haul by national pacer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza helped Khula Division earn a nine-run win over Chittagong Division in the second round one-day match of the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 9th National Cricket League Tuesday, reports UNB.
This was the second win for host Khulna Division after the 39-run victory over Dhaka Division in the first match on October 23.
With the win, Khulna Division improved their position securing four points, while Chittagong Division remained at their previous two points, both playing two matches.
Elected to bat first after winning the toss at the Bir Shreshtho Matiur Rahman Stadium in Khulna, Khula Division were all out for 196 runs in 46 overs in the face of disciplined bowling attacks by Chittagong Division.
Tushar Imran contributed 44 runs off 70 balls that featured two fours while Ziaur Rahman scored 30 runs off 32 balls with two fours and two sixes.
Jamal Uddin (28), skipper Habibul Bashar (27) and Imrul Kayes were the other notable scorers for the host side. Sabbir Khan did the major damage for Khulna Division claiming four wickets for 32 runs.
In reply, Chittagong Division were dismissed cheaply for 187 runs in 46.4 overs with Faisal Haq scoring 41 runs off 60 balls with four boundaries.
Dhiman Ghosh (38) Faisal Hossain (19) and Elias Sunny were the other notable scorers for Chittagong Division.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, who was adjudged man of the match, grabbed five wickets for 31 runs off 9.4 overs that included two maidens.
In the day's another match, Rajshahi Division, riding on opener Junayed Siddique's blistering century, posted their second win in the league, beating Barisal Division by 116 runs at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium.
Asked to bat first, Rajshahi division piled up 295 runs for eight wickets in stipulated 50 overs. Openers Junaed Siddique and Zahirul Islam gave a solid start to the host side, contributing 121 runs in the opening stands before separation.
Junaed contributed 120 runs off 125 balls with 13 fours and a six while Zahirul Islam made a quick-fire 55 off 52 balls with five boundaries and three over boundaries.
Suhrawardi Shuvo (24), Farhad Reza (24), Mushfiqur Rahman (20) Nayeem Islam (17) were the other notable contributors for Rajshahi Division.
Tariqul Islam captured four wickets for 57 runs while Ariful Haq bagged two for 74.
Chasing the massive total of 295, Barisal Division were all out for 179 runs in 48 overs with Sajedul Islam scoring 40 runs off 54 balls with three fours and two sixes.
Farhad Reza claimed three wickets for 28 runs, while Shuvo and Mohammad Shahzada hauled two wickets each for 16 and 30 runs respectively. Junaed was adjudged man of the match.
