Khulna scores 361 for 7 on day one against Ctg; Shakib hits century

National all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan's century along with two nice fifties from Imrul Kayes and Tushar Imran put Khulna Division in a commanding position on the 1st day of the 2nd round four-day match of the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 9th National Cricket League against Chittagong Division Friday, reports UNB.
Asked to bat first, Khulna Division finished the 1st day with a high note posting 361 for 7 in 90 overs in their first innings at the Bir Shrestho Shahid Ruhul Amin Stadium.
Number five Shakib contributed 108 off 140 balls, featuring 13 fours and a six, while opener Imrul Kayes made 52 off 89 balls with eight fours and a six.
Right-hand batsman Tushar Imran scored 51 off 96 balls with seven fours while wicket-keeper Shahagir Hossain Pavel contributed 47 off 98 balls, including four fours.
Number six Mohammad Salim and Ziaur Rahman were batting on 10 and 4 runs respectively.
Pacer Ashiqur Rahman and Saju Datta claimed three wickets each for 71 and 73 runs respectively.
At the Shahid Chandu Stadium in Bogra, two half centuries from skipper Al Shahriar Rokon and opener Anwar Hossain guided holders Dhaka Division to finish the 1st day on 237 for 4 in 91 overs in the first innings after they were put in to bat first by Sylhet Division.
Rokon scored 54 runs off 93 balls with seven fours while opener Anwar also made 54 playing 117 balls that featured seven fours. Middle order Mehrab Hossain Jr and Marshal Ayub remained at the crease with 49 and 15 runs respectively.
Right-arm leg spinner Alok Kapali took two wickets for 34 runs while pacer Nazmul Hossain and Imtiaz Hossain shared the other two wickets.
Sent in to bat first by Barisal Division at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium, in-form skipper Khaled Mashud Pilot and middle order Mushfiqur Rahman's useful fifties enabled the hosts to make a decent start on the first day as they scored 187 for 5 in 90 overs in their first innings.
Pilot will resume the innings tomorrow (Saturday) as he remained unbeaten on 86 off 240 balls clubbing 11 boundaries while Mushfiq made 67 off 195 balls, including 11 fours.
Pacer Talha Jubair and Sajedul Islam bagged two wickets apiece for 34 and 43 runs respectively while Arafat Salahuddin took the other wicket.
