NAGPUR, Feb 23 (AFP): New Zealand go into an emotion-fuelled World Cup clash against trans-Tasman rivals Australia Friday in a match overshadowed by the devastating Christchurch earthquake.
New Zealand's 15-man squad Tuesday desperately scrambled for news of loved ones caught up in the 6.3 magnitude quake which has left nearly 400 dead or missing, with the team admitting to being left shocked and numbed.
Christchurch-based players Brendon McCullum and fast bowler Hamish Bennett were given the option of returning home but declined, New Zealand's Newstalk radio reported.
