GELSENKIRCHEN (Germany), Nov 4 (AFP): Schalke 04's hopes of reviving their Champions League campaign suffered a blow on Sunday as it was revealed that German international striker Kevin Kuranyi was a major doubt for their match with Chelsea Tuesday.
The Brazilian-born striker suffered a left thigh injury in Friday's 1-0 defeat to Bundesliga tailenders Cottbus.
Kuranyi is the joint leading scorer - along with Gerald Asamoah - for Schalke this term with four goals.
Schalke 04 lie in seventh place in the league race, 10 points behind leaders Bayern Munich while they are bottom of their Champions League group with three points and with three games to play.
