Legends of Rupganj, Prime Doleshwar, Kalabagan win

Defending champions Legends of Rupganj, Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club and Kalabagan Cricket Academy posted win in their respective 2nd round super league match of the Walton Refrigerator Dhaka Premier Division Cricket Saturday, reports UNB.

Legends of Rupganj beat league leader Abahani Limited by 76 runs in a curtailed over match at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah while Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club defeated Prime Bank Cricket Club by 7 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium to maintain their winning streak in the super league and Mohammedan Sporting Club conceded 2nd consecutive defeat losing to Kalabagan Cricket Academy by 63 runs at the BKSP ground-3 in Savar.

Earlier, in the first round matches Wednesday (December 24), Abahani beat their arch-rivals Mohammedan SC by 3 wickets while Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club notched a massive 9-wicket victory over Kalabagan Cricket Academy and Prime Bank Cricket Club beat Legends of Rupganj by 84 runs.

In the title-deciding 3rd round matches Tuesday (Dec 30), Abahani Limited will take on Prime Doleshwar SC at the SBNCS in Mirpur while Prime Bank CC will face Kalabagan CA in Fatullah and Legends of Rupganj will meet Mohammedan SC at the BKSP ground-3 in Savar.

Legends of Rupganj vs Abahani

In the 40-over-a-side match, batting first after winning the toss all rounder Shakib Al Hasan-led Legends of Rupganj scored 221 runs for 9 in 39.5 overs with Jahurul Islam making 93 runs.

After the departure of opener Mosharraf Hossain at 30 in 4 overs, number three Jahurul Islam pairing with Zunaid Siddique contributed 68 runs in 13.1 overs in the 2nd wicket stand.

To score 93 runs off 108 balls, Jahurul Islam hit three fours and four sixes while Zunaid Siddique scored 42 runs off 49 balls with five fours.

Shakib Al Hasan (18), Abul Hasan (15) and Alok Kapali (13) were the other double digit scorers for the side.

Shubhashis Roy grabbed four wickets for 42 runs in 8 overs while Mostafizur Rahman captured three wickets conceding 51 runs in 7.5 overs. Al-Amin took one wicket for 33 runs in 7 overs.

Chasing a target of 222 runs, Abahani scored 145 runs losing 9 wickets in 34.4 overs.

Prime Doleshwar SC vs Prime Bank CC

Sent in to bat first in the curtailed 38 overs match, Prime Bank CC scored 153 runs for all in 35.4 overs.

Number seven Shuvagata Hom scored team highest 37 runs off 43 balls with four fours while Taiabur Parvez (26), Saykat Ali (17), Taskin Ahmed (12), opener Soumya Sarker (11), skipper Mahmudullah (11), Taijul Islam (11) and Shadman Islam (10) were the other double digit contributors for their side.

Delwar Hossain blitzed to capture five wickets for 26 runs in 7 overs while Elias Sunny grabbed three wickets for 34 runs in 6.4 overs and Habibur Rahman took the remained two wickets for 25 runs in 8 overs.

Chasing a target of 154 runs, national team captain Mushfiqur Rahim-led Prime Doleshwar SC reached the target for three in 28.2 overs.

Opening batsman Rony Talukder hit team highest 77 runs off 60 balls featuring seven fours and four sixes spurred his side.

After the departure of two top order batsmen-opener Mehedi Maruf (14) and number three Momninul Haque (11) -- at 66 in 11.4 overs, Rony Talukder partnering with skipper Mushfiqur Rahim (not out 25) contributed 60 runs in 6 overs, in the third wicket stand, to carry the team total to 126 for 3 in 23 overs. Number five Dawid Malan added not out 17 runs.

M SC vs Kalabagan CA

Sent in to bat first in the curtailed 45 overs match, Kalabagan KC scored 200 runs for all in 43.4 overs, riding on a 2nd wicket stand of 74 runs in 12.4 overs contributed by opener Imtiaz Hossain and number three Irfaan Sukkur.

Imtiaz Hossain hit team highest 56 runs 46 balls with seven fours and two sixes while Mehedi Hasan Miraz scored 2nd highest 41 runs off 62 balls with two fours.

Irfaan Sukkur scored 32 runs off 54 balls with a four while Sabbir Rumman (18), Nazmul Hossain (17) and Bishwant Halder (not out 12) were the other double digit scorers for the side.

In their quest for 201 runs, Mohammedan SC were all out for 137 runs in 41.2 overs with Naeem Islam scoring team highest 56 runs off 80 balls with seven fours.

Number eleven Amit Kumer (not out 17), Rahmat Shah (16), Tanvir Haider (13), Rahatul Ferdous (11) and skipper Mashrafe Mortaza (10) were the other double digit scorers for their side.
