Maldives, Turkmenistan reach final

The Maldives and Turkmenistan reached the final of the DBBL Asian Senior Men's Central Zone Volleyball Championship eliminating their rivals in the semifinals at the Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur Wednesday, reports UNB.
The Maldives earned a hard-fought 25-23, 25-17, 17-25, 15-25 and 15-12 points (3-2 sets) victory against Afghanistan while Turkmenistan managed a straight 25-16, 25-21 and 25-6 points (3-0 sets) win over earthquake-torn Nepal in the semifinals Wednesday afternoon.
The Maldives and Turkmenistan will play the final today (Thursday) at 4:00 pm at the same venue while Nepal will meet Afghanistan in the 3rd place-deciding match on the same day at 1:00 pm.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu will be the chief guest in the today's final and later he will distribute the trophies. State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder will be the special guest at the closing function.
