Mamunul still hopeful of playing in semifinal

SYLHET, Jan 30 (BSS): Bangladesh national football team skipper Mamunul Islam is still very much hopeful of playing in the semifinal of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football Tournament despite a shocking 1-0 defeat to Malaysia in the opening match Thursday.
The country's midfielder firmly said his team would fight back in their next group match against Sri Lanka by taking the home ground advantage.
Regarding Malaysian team, the skipper said, "They (Malaysia) really surprised us playing during the match in the first 20 minutes."
"Every body of our team is disappointed after losing to Malaysia. The Sri Lankan side is also good, though we have a chance to play in the semifinal," he also said.
Mamunul said, "I am responsible for Thursday's defeat. I want to feel free from any tension. I also told the boys to play their natural game."
Mamun urged local fans to support them as a win against Sri Lanka will create their opportunity to play in the semifinal.
