Mariners beat Ajax SC in Premier Hockey League

Dhaka Mariner Youngs earned a convincing 3-0 victory over Ajax SC in the Green Delta Metropolis Premier Division Hockey League at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium Wednesday, reports UNB.
After a barren first half, Rahman put Mariners ahead in the 41st minute, Mainul Islam doubled margin in the 50th minute while Taher Ali further widened the margin in the 69th minute.
It was the first win for Mariners in the five-team super league after two successive losses against Abahani and Mohammedan while its was the third consecutive defeat for Ajax in the super league.
Abahani Limited will play Sonali Bank SRC tomorrow (Thursday) in a must win situation to keep their title hopes alive, ahead of their vital league match against arch-rivals Mohammedan SC Saturday.
