Bangladesh Captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has lauded the performance of Mushfiqur Rahim calling him the 'run-machine' of the team, reports bdnews24.com.
Mushfiqur scored a blistering 106 runs off 77 balls in Bangladesh's long-awaited win against Pakistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur Friday.
Bangladesh went on to win the match by 79 runs ending nearly a 16-year wait for a win against the 1992 World Cup champions.
Mashrafe thinks Mushfiqur is reaping the results of his hard work.
"Mushfiq is now the Bangladesh's run-machine. The way he scored in the last two-three years, is extraordinary. The best players in the world play like this," Mashrafe told reporters at the pre-match press conference Saturday.
"But he is not overwhelmed.... It may be good for him. I express the hope that he keeps playing the way he is for the team."
Former One Day International (ODI) captain of the Tigers Mushfiq put up a commanding batting show from the outset of his innings on Friday.
He dictated the Pakistan bowlers playing inside out with ease.
He danced down the track to Wahab Riaz, Junaid Khan and Rahat Ali and lofted the ball on both sides of the wicket.
Mashrafe was mesmerised by Mushfiq's captivating stroke play.
"Even when no one is practising (in the nets), he trains alone. He calls out 10-12 net bowlers and trains. Actually, his tremendous will to play well has brought him here."
