Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and two other national cricketers returned home Friday from West Indies due to injury, reports UNB.
Mashrafe, who was appointed captain of Bangladesh national cricket team last month replacing Mohammad Ashraful, had to return home due to the knee injury he suffered while bowling in the first session of the 3rd day of the first Test in St Vincent.
Bangladesh with Shakib al Hasan as stand in captain, however, registered a historic 95-run victory over West Indies to taste their first-ever overseas Test win.
Talking to the reporters at the Zia International Airport Friday, Mashrafe said: "I don't know when I will be back on wicket. There will be need for more tests of my injury, but I hope to be back soon."
The two other cricketers of Bangladesh squad- pacer Shahadat Hossain Razib and wicket-keeper Sahagir Hossain Pavel- also returned home from West Indies along with Mashrafe.
Spinner Enamul Haque Jr, who also left West Indies with Mashrafe, stayed back in England for eye treatment.
