Mashrafe, Shakib likely to collect AL nomination forms for polls today

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan, two of the top cricketers in the country, are going to 'collect' Awami League nomination forms for the upcoming general election today (Sunday), reports bdnews24.com.

"Both Mashrafe and Shakib called our General Secretary Obaidul Quader and said they would collect the forms on Sunday," Awami League's Deputy Office Secretary Biplab Barua told the news agency on Saturday.

Mashrafe intends to contest from Narail and Shakib from Magura, said the Awami League official.

Mashrafe, the present captain of the one-day team in national cricket, is already involved in social welfare activities in his constituency.

He established an institution called 'Narail Express Foundation' last year with a goal to bring development to different sectors in Narail.

Test and T20 team captain Shakib's ancestral home is in Magura.
